Join us for an evening of your stories! The theme is Madness. These are stories about the things we are mad about, glad about, or so happy about it drives us a little crazy.
Yes, it's a competition but it's also an opportunity to share seven minutes of YOU with a room full of kind folks who appreciate stories.
How it works:
If you want to tell your seven-minute story, you'll drop your name in the bucket. We'll draw up to ten names and each person has seven minutes to tell a story. At the end of the night, the audience will decide who the winner is.
Two aspects of storytelling to consider:
Content is a measure of the story itself.
Did the story have a plot with a strong beginning, absorbing middle, and did it drive right through to the end, with a strong arc?
Did it relate to the theme of the Slam?
Presentation is a measure of how well the story is told.
Did the storyteller bring the story to life and connect with the audience?
Was the story 7 minutes or less?
No props or notes are allowed.
After basking in triumphant glory, the winner is invited to compete in the Story Grand Slam in November for the title of Grand Master Storyteller of Memphis.
$10 Admission, paid at the door.
