Join us for an evening of your stories! The theme is Take the Leap. These are stories about the times we dared and the times we wish we had.
Yes, it's a competition but it's also an opportunity to share five minutes of YOU with a room full of kind folks who appreciate stories.
How it works:
If you want to tell your five minute story, you'll drop your name in the bucket. We'll draw up to ten names and each person has five minutes to tell their story. Three judges score the stories on a scale of 1-10 based on content and presentation.
Content is a measure of the story itself: The story has a plot with a strong beginning, absorbing middle, and it drives right through to the end, with a strong arc. It relates to the theme of the Slam.
Presentation is a measure of how well the story is told: The storyteller must bring the story to life and connect with the audience. The story is 7 minutes or less.
No props or notes are allowed.
After basking in triumphant glory, the winner is invited to compete in the Story Grand Slam in November for the title of Grand Master Storyteller of Memphis.
$10 Admission, paid at the door.
